16 and 18 March 2013 | Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad and Faculty of Physics, University of Belgrade | 2013 International Particle Physics MasterClass | 60 | The 2013 International Particle Physics MasterClass (http://www.physicsmasterclasses.org/) in Serbia was organized by the University of Belgrade, in collaboration with the European Particle Physics Outreach Group, and was held on 16 March 2013 at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad and on 18 March at the Faculty of Physics, University of Belgrade. IPB's Dusan Vudragovic and Vladimir Slavnic gave a talk to high school students on utilization of the Serbian Grid and High Performance Computing (HPC) resources.
The aim of the MasterClass is to introduce an exciting and rapidly developing scientific field dealing with some of the fundamental secrets of the nature to the 4th-year high school students. The lectures given by active researchers and university professors bring insight into topics and methods of fundamental research of matter, but distributed computing infrastructures are presented as well.
