16 and 18 March 2013 Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad and Faculty of Physics, University of Belgrade 2013 International Particle Physics MasterClass 60 The 2013 International Particle Physics MasterClass (http://www.physicsmasterclasses.org/) in Serbia was organized by the University of Belgrade, in collaboration with the European Particle Physics Outreach Group, and was held on 16 March 2013 at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad and on 18 March at the Faculty of Physics, University of Belgrade. IPB's Dusan Vudragovic and Vladimir Slavnic gave a talk to high school students on utilization of the Serbian Grid and High Performance Computing (HPC) resources.

The aim of the MasterClass is to introduce an exciting and rapidly developing scientific field dealing with some of the fundamental secrets of the nature to the 4th-year high school students. The lectures given by active researchers and university professors bring insight into topics and methods of fundamental research of matter, but distributed computing infrastructures are presented as well. During the Grid and HPC computing session, the aims of EGI-InSPIRE project are presented.

2. ACTIVITY REPORT

2.1. Progress Summary

  • Maintenance of CREAM CE, WMS, and LB staged rollout services.
  • Participation in staged rollout test for EMI.cream.sl6.x86_64-1.14.3 (https://rt.egi.eu/rt/Ticket/Display.html?id=5008) and emergency release 1.14.4 of EMI-2 CREAM.
  • Certification of AEGIS09-FTN-KM Grid site has been finalized, so NGI_AEGIS now provides in total 6 Grid sites.
  • Operation of BDII/WMS/LB/VOMS/PX/LFC/Pakiti services for AEGIS, agINFRA, CMPC.AEGIS.RS, ATLAS, CMS, SEEGRID, and SEE VOs.
  • Operational support to NGI_BA and NGI_GE.
  • Attendance to Operations Management Board and Operations meetings.
  • Participation in staged rollout test for EMI.cream-torque.sl6.x86_64-2.0.2 (https://rt.egi.eu/rt/Ticket/Display.html?id=5010).
  • Coordination of operation of NGI_AEGIS sites.
  • Maintenance and regular update of NGI_AEGIS Nagios box, responsible for monitoring of NGI_AEGIS and NGI_GE.
  • Coordination of the migration of EMI-1 components deployed in NGI_AEGIS to EMI-2 or EMI-3. Migration of gLite services (gLite 3.2 DPM, LFC and Worker Nodes) was already successfully completed in the previous period.
  • Monitoring the creation of the VT Inter-NGI Usage Report within the Inter NGI Usage Report virtual team.
  • Participation in staged rollout test for EMI.wms.sl6.x86_64-3.5.0 (https://rt.egi.eu/rt/Ticket/Display.html?id=5095).
