Proof of Concept scenarios

The Swedish partner would like to investigate scenarios 1.3, 2.2, and 2.4 (the first two are included in DCH-RP Deliverable D3.1; the third is described here.

We plan to do the following for the scenarios:

Scenario 1.3:

  • Investigate what the state-of-the-art cloud archive providers can offer in terms of security, availability, migration of obsolete file formats, et cetera.
  • Investigate and test available tools that could be usable for the participants in this scenario (mainly, voluntary IT support). Use the previous work documented in D3.1_DCH_RP_ver_1.0_070213.doc and http://digital-scholarship.org/dcrg/dcrg.htm

Scenario 2.2:

  • Investigate suitable "modern" formats for image data. The format(s) should be stable (predicted to need no migration to other formats in the foreseeable future), give high quality images, and be available as target formats in some migration tool(s).
  • Investigate and test available migration tools, especially for batch migration.

Scenario 2.4:

  • Investigate what the state-of-the-art cloud archive providers can offer in terms of security, availability, migration of obsolete file formats, et cetera.
  • Investigate and test available dissemination tools that are appropriate for this scenario.
