Minutes

  • Sergio provided final table of acknowledgment statements based on answering VOs
  • Harry provided Excel with initial results in advance; it was discussed the initial results and the OpenAIRE team explained how the matching rule works (sliding window + previous-centre-next criteria; first match on a less strict rule is later refined with a second match on a more strict rule); the confidence rate is calculated based on the number of matching bigrams
  • Antonis: data model and context are being developed; to be finalised in the coming week so that data from mining rules can start being stored during the next week; mock-up pages will be defined first for the generic OpenAIRE portal; creating a personalised portal for EGI will be done later once the functionalities are in place
  • Natalia explained that the programmatic access through API to repositories from commercial publishers in Europe is under negotiation; dedicated licenses need to be acquired; having more use cases supporting this need with the EC may lead to achieving agreement faster; US publishers do not require an extra license for mining
  • Natalia also suggested to try to finalise the workflow within OpenAIRE soon so to start marketing the results with other Virtual Organisations to show the value;
  • Sergio reported on the EGI Resource Allocation Framework being finalised and submitted to the EGI Council for approval; this will include OpenAIRE in the workflow as a repository where to record scientific output from resource allocation usage;
