Globus

  • The RHEL/CentOS/SL update from version 6.4 to 6.5 caused problems for the globus gatekeeper:
  • The problem was caused by updating openssl from version 1.0.0 to version 1.0.1.
  • One globus package (globus-gssapi-gsi) was identified as behaving differently when compiled against openssl 1.0.0 and 1.0.1. (It is the only one that has a requires on libcrypto.so.10(OPENSSL_1.0.1)(64bit) when compiled against openssl 1.0.1)
  • Using a recompiled globus-gssapi-gsi package makes the globus-gatekeeper work again.
  • Packages in Fedora updates testing and EPEL testing, please provide feedback (karma)

SAM probes

Peter Solagna circulated an email to the URT list to ask if there are plans to release new versions of the probes. Currently two PT have plans: CREAM, QCG. If there are other plans, contact URT mailing list ASAP.

SAM will have another release before end of April, it is crucial the new probes arrive very soon, otherwise it will require some months to produce a new release.

New major release for UMD?

The UMD team have no plans to cut a new major release for UMD at the moment. The backward incompatible updates have been minor and renamed by the product teams, since they were released also in EPEL. No requirements that justified the overhead of a new major release.

PT are invited to provide feedback on this topic, since a major release needs to be planned in advance.
