Main page with instructions. In this page, you can provide your assessments for the EGI Global Tasks (MS115) and your self-assessment for the NGI International Tasks (MS116).

Notes:

  • Both milestones are an assessment of services from a managerial perspective'and should be reported as an evaluation of the services -do 'not report what your NGI did for those tasks/services as this is covered by the Quarterly Reports.
  • MS115: External assessments of NA2.2 EGI Dissemination and Marketing as a global task.
  • MS116: Self-assessment of NGI International Tasks, required for tasks where your NGI has effort. (The operations part is covered through a survey linked at the bottom of this page).

The content will be used for the following documents:

Global Tasks (MS115)

In this box, please provide your external assessment on the quality of the following tasks:

External Relations

NA2.2E Dissemination (May 2011 - Oct 2011)
Marketing and Communication (since Nov 2011)
Marketing and dissemination activities in that period are more addressed to EGI infrastructure users. We really appreciate iSGTW newsletter informing about interesting projects and scientific work results. Marketing materials from last period are more user oriented comparing with previous period. 3 We would appreciate more user oriented (not only services and infrastructure) marketing material in PDF (or better in an editable format for localization and regional customization). Users need answer to their question "why and how I should start with grids". They need success stories of similar users communities.

NGI International Tasks (MS116)

In this box, please provide your self-assessment on the quality of the following tasks.

External Relations

NA2.2N Dissemination NGI_CZ was very active in this period. We found effective communication channels for dissemination (web presentation and news section, mailling lists, RSS, newsletter, pro-active contacts with important communities, etc). 4 to provide more attractive information
NA2.3N Policy Development NGI_CZ has started to implement EGI policies and procedures in local environment consistent with local law. 3 to be continued

User Services

Table 4: NGI Assessment: May 2011 - Oct 2011
EGI-InSPIRE Name Assessment Score How to Improve
NA3.3N Requirements Gathering NGI_CZ received a lot of requests coming via our local Request Tracking system or during individual communication with users. Most of requirements target special software installation. We often face a problem with a license policy of commercial software on grid. 3 It seems we found working setup. Sometimes we need to decrease response time.
NA3.3N Application Database Although number of SW in the application database has increased since last period we did not submitted any application. We use our local application list with much more information (use condition, user guides, FAQ,...) involved. 2 to add an application to central database
NA3.3N Training Marketplace NGI_CZ usage of the central Training marketplace is very limited. Workshops and training activities are doubled here and in Indico. We would appreciate here another kind of information - a "quick start" marketing material for a new community with success stories and arguments why to start with EGI included.

NGI_CZ organized regular Grid Computing Seminar 2011 (taking place beginning of November in Brno) in that period and issued a MetaCentrum Yearbook 2010 with users contributions.

3 We would also appreciate more user guides solving common often repeating problem on grids. We believe our participation in several VT teams in next period will help us to share such kind of information.
NA3.3N Consultancy NGI_CZ provides consultancy to potential users. We actively contact large projects forming in the Czech Republic cooperating with any ESFRI or similar global project and repeatedly convince them about advantage of grid services usage. 3 we need to increase the effectivity of our effort
