1. Task Meetings

Date (dd/mm/yyyy) Url Indico Agenda Title Outcome
27/09/2013 Migration of message brokers Tentative plan for migration agreed.

2. Main Achievements

Bidding process for hosting EGI core activities after the end of EGI InSPIRE started (https://wiki.egi.eu/wiki/Core_EGI_Activities). CERN did not submit a bid so services hosted at CERN (ActiveMQ broker and SAM) will require migration to new partners. In order to achieve smooth transition new instances have to be production ready before May 2014. Several meetings were held between new partners and CERN team.

There were no ActiveMQ upgrades in this quarter. Cleaning of unused queues on all brokers was performed. Initial plans were prepared for the removal of CERN brokers from the ActiveMQ network. Migration is critical because it has to be performed before the start of SAM central services migration.

The new GOCDB version 5 was deployed to production on October 2nd.

Operations portal's development of the new A/R calculation continued and the focus was shifted to fetaures requested by the new mini-project "A new approach to Computing Availability and Reliability Reports".

SAM Update-22 was deployed on the central SAM-GridMon on October 1st, followed by staged rollout. SAM Update-22 was released to production on October 28th. SAM team participated in meetings on a subject of migration of central SAM instance.

Monitoring instance midmon was extended with the new set of tests monitoring middleware compliance to SHA-2 certificates.

4. Plans for the next period

Deployment of the Operations Portal with the new A/R calculations is expected by the end of the year.

Once the bidding process is finished migration of ActiveMQ brokers and central SAM services will begin. In order to achieve smooth transition new services should be deployed in the following quarter.
