2. ACTIVITY REPORT

2.1. Progress Summary

Finnish national grid infrastructure has worked nicely. 3.1.2011 Academy of Finland granted 2 M€ for the new hardware investments for national grid infrastructure (NGI_FI or FGI). Purchased hardware will be located in 9 sites will be connected to EGI late 2011 / early 2012.

The only gLite resource in Finland (64 cores for ESRVO) was decommissioned in the end of November 2011 when NGI_FI decided to provide all EGI resources through ARC middleware in order to reduce maintenance work required for two middleware stacks.

Setting up the NGI_FI continued slower than anticipated, but there were some progress however.

2.2. Main Achievements

Major update of SGAS accounting system.

Setup of Nagios monitoring.

2.3. Issues and mitigation

Issue Description Mitigation Description

Interoperability between the ARC middleware and the operational and monitoring tools remains the main issue.

When gLite resources were decommissioned in the end of November everything did not go as nicely as planned because in the monitoring of the systems continued for whole December. This caused 0% availability figures for the resource.
