The High and Medium priority products are expected in the first UMD update, if there is time also some 'Low' priority products will be released.

Important: if there are missing products considered critical please contact SA2 (Peter Solagna) before March 15th (it's possible to release quicker if NGIs contribute to verification).

1.2.2 UMD major releases plan

So far UMD cut a major release as the technology providers released a new major release.
SA2 is proposing the same workflow for EMI-3, products from EMI 3.* will be released in UMD 3.0 and further updates. This choice has pros and cons:

  • Pros:
    • Sites will be able to install new instances of EMI-2 products from the UMD repositories, if needed
    • Updates for EMI-2 will be released also in UMD, in parallel with the EMI-3 updates
    • Make easier to handle the future decommissioning of EMI-2
    • There are backward incompatibilities, at least two products with changes in client-libraries.
  • Cons:
    • Sites will have to change the repository configuration for new services
    • UMD will have - likely - to cut another major release between the END of EMI/IGE and the end of the year

Important: feedback about this proposal must be provided by March 15th. The work of the verifiers is depending also to the repository configuration.

2. Operational Issues

2.2 Updates from DMSU

Nothing to report

2.3 VOMS and Argus must be published by the site-bdii

VOMS and Argus must be published by the Site-BDII as any other service.

  • VOMS has the information provider implemented for all the EMI releases
  • ARGUS has the information provider enabled starting from EMI-2

Please make sure that sites are properly configured, and that they have these two services listed in their Site-BDIIs.

2.4 Configuration tools survey still open

  • Deadline was last Friday, results will be analyzed Wednesday/Thursday
    • Survey will be open at least until the end of the week for late submissions
  • Please, ask sites to provide their contribution if they haven't yet participated to the survey
  • All information are available in the broadcast sent to the sites
