ARC 6 has an alpha release announced. ARC 6 has been running on a couple of Nordic Tier 1 machines (Oslo since before summer, Linkøping recently) - ARC 6 is in testing and debugging mode at the moment although machines running ARC6 are in production.

I was made aware of a bug in the xrootd 4.8.5 release where the client library (libXrdCl) didn't handle properly server disconnect.
An updated package backporting a fix for this issue is available.
xrootd 4.8.5-2 is in EPEL stable since 2018-02-05.
