For now, packages for UNICORE 7.2.0 can be downloaded from

Debian: http://unicore-dev.zam.kfa-juelich.de/release-candidates/core/7.2.0-packages/deb

RPM: http://unicore-dev.zam.kfa-juelich.de/release-candidates/core/7.2.0-packages/rpm

RPM packages were tested on Centos 6, so SL6 will be fine. SL5 is NOT supported any more.

Since the previous meeting there has been an update to the globus-gssapi-gsi package added to EPEL testing..

Please remember that there are plans for changing the default name compatibility mode from "HYBRID" to "STRICT_RFC2818" in a future update to the Globus Toolkit (see previous meeting minutes for details). If you have not yet tested this, please do so.

Other topics

Actions (done and in progress)

Java 7

EPEL 7

  • Next UMD will support CentOS7
  • It is important to know the status of the support of CentOS7 for the components in UMD, and if there is no support yet which the plans are. Please keep your information up to date: Status of support of EPEL 7 (SL7/CentOS7)
  • The UMD4 will support EPEL7 and Ubuntu.
  • The first release of UMD4 will be on Sept2015.

AOB

GLUE2 support

EGI is moving the operations tools to GLUE2, for example the Operations Portal is implementing tools to gather aggregated information from the information system and display them. All the new development will use GLUE2, and not GLUE1.3, by default, unless strictly necessary to harvest information also from the older version of GLUE.

Could Product Teams provide information about the capability of their products to be published in the BDII with GLUE2? In particular for the products/software exposing resources to the end users (compute/storage)?

RFC proxies

ops VO monitoring, used for the calculation of the EGI A/R statistics will be using RFC proxies, as opposite to legacy proxies, starting from October/November. All the middleware using X509 proxies for user authentication should be able to handle RFC proxies as well, please report any discrepancy to the URT ML.
