UMD releases status

Status of the products verification/staged rollout

Next UMD-3 releases

UMD release process experienced a lot of issues with the latest Globus update, conflicting with the test installation of the products from the Release Candidate (RC). The release has been delayed in order to find a solution to the problem.

The new RC without the UI for SL5 is being tested in this moment and should work. The new UI in SL5 will be released together with the Globus 5.2.5 to solve the dependency issues.

  • UMD 3.3.0: This week
  • UMD 3.4.0: Before Xmas (with QCG and ARC)

Keeping two separate releases is preferable in order to keep stable a release candidate once it has been tested for installation.

Ready to be released

New release candidate: RC7

Globus

  • The RHEL/CentOS/SL update from version 6.4 to 6.5 caused problems for the globus gatekeeper:
  • The problem was caused by updating openssl from version 1.0.0 to version 1.0.1.
  • One globus package (globus-gssapi-gsi) was identified as behaving differently when compiled against openssl 1.0.0 and 1.0.1. (It is the only one that has a requires on libcrypto.so.10(OPENSSL_1.0.1)(64bit) when compiled against openssl 1.0.1)
  • Using a recompiled globus-gssapi-gsi package makes the globus-gatekeeper work again.
  • Packages in Fedora updates testing and EPEL testing, please provide feedback (karma)
