2. ACTIVITY REPORT
2.1. Progress Summary
ROC UKI has started the process to split into separate NGIs. NGI_IE is progressing through the stages of setting up a new NGI. NGI_UK will follow, after which ROC UKI will be decommissioned.
Major CASTOR upgrade completed successfully. Continue to provide a very reliable and available grid infrastructure. Transitioned to gLite-APEL. Kept things running without incident over the winter period. Edinburgh installed CREAM, Durham installed glite-APEL.
2.2. Main Achievements
Test site (pre-SR) for DPM. Edinburgh delivered large amounts of computing to the grid (>8M HS06 hours), following a successful cluster upgrade. Durham have improved their networking infrastructure to help site reliability. Major CASTOR upgrade.
2.3. Issues and mitigation
Issues | Mitigation |
---|---|
Running sufficiently large number of jobs at Glasgow to start hitting scale limits of CREAM (A good problem to have!) | Deployed multiple CREAM instances, for reliability |
