The operational tools information page provides links to EGI central operations tools, to documentation and gives an overview of the current NGI deployment plans of local tool instances.

Tool Description Link Documentation
Operations portal The Operations Portal provides a view, based on the role of the viewer, to information about the status of resources and grid services. The portal provides following tools: VO registration, VO management, VO dashboard, COD dashboard, Operation dashboard, Security dashboard, broadcast and downtime notification mechanism. https://operations-portal.egi.eu/

The old CIC portal

Operations Portal
Service Availability Monitoring SAM is a system for monitoring distributed grid services, which are part of the EGI infrastructure. The service covers storage and computation of status and availability of services (OPS VO), generation of EGI league monthly report, web interface (MyEGI) and web APIs to access stored data retrieval. SAM Instances (Nagios and MyEGI portals) SAM
GOCDB The Grid Configuration Database (GOCDB) is the central input system for recording Grid topology information. This includes the Sites that contribute to the production Grid infrastructure, their associated Service Endpoints, service downtime information and contact details for participants who maintain the infrastructure. It is accessed by all project actors (end-users, site managers, NGI mangers, support teams, VO managers), by other tools and by third party middleware in order to fetch the Grid topology and its status. https://goc.egi.eu/ GOCDB
GGUS The Global Grid User Support (GGUS) system is the primary means by which users request support when they are using the grid. The GGUS system is the main support access point for the EGI project. The GGUS system creates a trouble ticket to record the request and tracks the ticket from creation through to solve. http://helpdesk.egi.eu/ GGUS
Accounting portal The accounting infrastructure is a complex system that involves various sensors in different regions, all publishing data to a central repository. The data is processed, summarized and displayed in the accounting portal, which acts as a common interface to the different accounting record providers and presents a homogeneous view of the data gathered and a user-friendly access to understanding resource utilization. http://accounting.egi.eu/ Accounting
Metrics portal The Metrics Portal displays a set of metrics that will be used to monitor the performance of the infrastructure and the project, and to track their changes over time. The portal automatically collects all the required data and calculates these metrics before displaying them in the portal. The portal aggregates information from different sources such as GOCDB, GGUS, GridView, etc. using various connectors provided by the data provider. These connectors translate the information gathered from diverse producers and store it in a local database. http://metrics.egi.eu/ Metric Portal
Gstat GStat displays information about grid services, the grid information system itself and related metrics. Gstat provides a method to visualize a grid infrastructure from an operational perspective based on information found in the grid information system (BDII). http://gstat.egi.eu/ and WLCG Gstat Gstat
Availability Calculation Engine ACE is a monitoring and visualization tool being developed to show the statistics of data transfers, FTS file transfers, jobs running and service availability information for the EGI. https://grid-monitoring.cern.ch/myegi/sa ACE
AppDB
The EGI Applications Database (AppDB) is a central service that stores and provides to the public, information about:
  •     software solutions in the form of native software products and/or virtual appliances,
  •     the programmers and the scientists who are involved, and
  •     publications derived from the registered solutions

e-GRANT

e-GRANT is a tool supporting Resource Allocation process. It allows researchers to request:

  • an amount of compute and storage resources,
  • FedCloud resources

for a given amount of time. e-GRANT handles all activities involved in RA Process which leads to SLA signing.
