ROCCI-server Backend development status
The development of rOCCI-server backends is an ongoing process, driven mostly by community needs and available funding. What follows is a list of backends that are available, planned, or being considered:

| OpenNebula | production | The OpenNebula Backend is a flagship product for rOCCI, routinely used at multiple sites. |
| Amazon EC2 | experimental | The EC2 backend implementation has been developed and tested with Amazon Web Services. It is currently an experiemntal products and the documentation has yet to be compiled. |
| VMWare | considered | Based on requests from multiple sites, a backend for VMWare products is being considered. It is not yet decided which product in the VMWare range would be targeted. |
| Windows Azure | design | The implementation of an Azure backend is in early design stage. There is nothing to try out, yet. |
| CloudStack | design | The implementation of a CloudStack backend is in early design stage. There is nothing to try out, yet. |
Products out of Consideration
There are products not being considered despite occasional requests. Invariably they are products offering their own OCCI compatibility solution, namely OpenStack with OCCI-OS, and Synnefo with snf-occi'. Still, products in the rOCCI framework are tested against these implementation to assure compatibility.
