ARC 15.03 update 7

Description

The Advanced Resource Connector (ARC) middleware is an Open Source software solution to enable distributed computing infrastructures with the emphasis on processing large volumes of data. ARC provides an abstraction layer over computational resources, complete with input and output data movement functionalities. The security model of ARC is identical to that of Grid solutions, relying on delegation of user credentials and the concept of Virtual Organisations. ARC also provides client tools, as well as API in C++, Python and Java.

Release notes

This is a minor release, introducing new features and addressing bugs discovered since release 15.03u6.

NorduGrid ARC 15.03 has received an update to:

  • core, clients, CE, Infosys and gridftp - from version from version 5.0.5 to 5.1.1
  • documents - from 2.0.6 to 2.0.7

Nagios plugins, CAnL C++ and metapackages are unchanged.

dCache 2.10.61

Description

dCache provides system for storing and retrieving huge amounts of data, distributed among a large number of heterogenous server nodes, under a single virtual filesystem tree with a variety of standard access methods.

DPM 1.8.11

Description

The Disk Pool Manager (DPM) is a lightweight storage solution for grid sites. It offers a simple way to create a disk-based grid storage element and supports relevant protocols (SRM, gridFTP, RFIO) for file management and access. It focus on manageability (ease of installation, configuration, low effort of maintenance), while providing all required functionality for a grid storage solution (support for multiple disk server nodes, different space types, multiple file replicas in disk pools)

Frontier-Squid 2.7.STABLE9-24.2

Description

The Frontier distributed database caching system uses a RESTful http-based protocol to distribute data queries. The LHC experiments ATLAS and CMS use it to access conditions data describing their complicated detectors, and cache the results at all the worldwide sites that process their particle collision data. The twiki site contains documentation for the software of the Frontier system that is not experiment-specific.

fts3 3.4.6

Description

FTS3 is the service responsible for globally distributing the majority of the LHC data across the WLCG infrastructure. Is a low level data movement service, responsible for reliable bulk transfer of files from one site to another while allowing participating sites to control the network resource usage

gfal2 2.11.1

Description

GFAL (Grid File Access Library ) is a C library providing an abstraction layer of the grid storage system complexity. The version 2 of GFAL tries to simplify at the maximum the file operations in a distributed environment. The complexity of the grid is hidden from the client side behind a simple common POSIX API.
