Purpose
This task force aims at discussing and defining the key elements and potential issues of interoperability and integration between the commercial providers in Helix Nebula publicly funded e-Infrastructures. Technical interoperability of all components of the Helix Nebula complex architecture to serve the need of scientific communities is at the core of this requirements gathering exercise to achieve effective service delivery.
The list of requirements should include areas as:
- Portability of VM images across different providers with no manual intervention from users
- Access to infrastructure through a unique authentication/authorisation mechanism
- Adoption of open standards for cross-organisation interfaces
- interoperability issues at data level with EGI/PRACE/EUDAT
as well as other area of technical relevance for the interoperation of publicly funded e-Infrastructures and commercial cloud providers in an integrated architectural framework “The Blue Box”.
