What is the purpose of the EGCF Support?

The European Globus Community Forum (EGCF) is providing Globus Toolkit middleware components. They are delivered to European users with the assumption of compatibility with European Infrastructures and need to be supported.

For which components does EGCF provide support?

The 3rd level EGCF support unit handles all the issues affecting Globus Toolkit middleware that could not be resolved by corresponding 1st and 2nd level support units in GGUS system as a catch-all unit. Before EGCF is asked, it should be attempted to contact the relevant product team directly. EGCF is trying to solve such issues in close cooperation with Globus experts and core developer teams.

Which quality of service (QoS) will you provide?


Who will assign tickets to EGCF Support?

It gets forwarded from NGI helpdesks, TPM, the EGI Deployed Middleware Support Unit (DMSU), or can be created by Globus middleware end-users directly in GGUS portal.

Are tickets typically solved in EGCF Support or reassigned elsewhere?

EGCF support makes sure that all EGCF related tickets are processed and solved on a best effort basis (BASIC support level).
