Glossary Coordination Group (GCG)

The Glossary Coordination Group is established since there is need to have an EGI common glossary document. This document should provide a common reference for the meaning of various terms used in the context of the EGI policy and procedure documents. As well as defining terms, this glossary should limit the scope of meaning of terms used in the EGI policies and procedures.

Composition

Membership of the GCG is composed from Chairs of EGI policy groups and EGI.eu staff from Policy development team (see Table 1)

Communication and Working Procedure

• All members of the Group are subscribed to the mailing list gcg-discuss-owner@mailman.egi.eu and should use it as primary written communication channel.

• Policy development team will collect preliminary list of terms with definitions and submit the working document on google documents that will be available for the members to comment and discuss.

• Request for the introduction of new terms and definitions should be submitted to the mailing list and the Chair will decide what is the most appropriate mode to deal with the request.

• Wherever possible, GCG will agree on proposed terms and definition by clear consensus, as determined by the Chair.
