How the EGI User Start Guide ation is laid out and how to use it.
The table below lists the titles of the current set of User Information Group Pages. Click on any title in the table to view the corresponding page.

A basic familiarity with the Unix OS commands are presumed, since all commands will be done from a Unix-based console. This includes Grid commands as well as local machine commands.


If the reader is new to the Grid and its concepts and wants to get started with understanding, writing and running jobs as quickly and efficiently as possible, it is strongly recommended that the chapters are followed in sequence, as they appear on the Table of contents.

Chapters from 1 to 10 go through all the basics for setting up the user to be ready to use the Grid. Chapters from 11 to 19 are for advanced users and feature detailed, in-depth information on more complex concepts and operations. The last chapters (from 20 to 22) describe some particular Life Sciences community use cases about Data Management facilities.
