Accounting Workshop at EGI TF12 Disemination and discussion on the accounting roadmap, together with news of GridSafe from IGE which will be another accounting system which will publish to APEL.

2. Main Achievements

Repository

  • Ran the production repository with no internal problems this quarter. A fix for the EGI broker network identified in the previous quarter was implemented and made available to the clients. NDGF/SGAS, CH/SGAS (UNIBE-LHEP, UNIBE-ID & UNIGE-DPNC sites) and INFN/DGAS moved their production accounting to the new SSM infrastructure. The test repository continues to run all the time to receive tests from other sites. All of the other existing and new accounting services have done some testing using SSM, including IGE/Grid-Safe, CC-IN2P3, and ARC-JURA. Still to do EDGI and MAPPER.
  • Participated in Inter-NGI Report Virtual Team and the Federated Cloud Task Force. For test cloud accounting database we now have 7 Resource Providers who have successfully sent in cloud accounting records from OpenNebula and Openstack cloud middleware.
  • Participated in OGF UR WG fortnightly phone conferences.

Portal

  • Preparing next release for 20th of November, there was some improvement of the views and optimization work. The IP of the accounting portal server was moved to a new IP range, and the DNS changed. The image was updated to use qcow2 and maintained.
  • There was also work to support RFC2253 DNs, which needed changes throughout the nationality detenction code, there were also bugs that had to be solved due to this important change. Some calculations on the nationality code had to be changed too.
  • There was

much behind-the-scenes work to improve DN publication and the country reporting.

3. Issues and Mitigation

  • Issue Description
  • Mitigation Description
  • Sites who were not publishing UserDNs have started republishing data for the last year – this requires additional effort to coordinate
  • Sites should not republish but should just publish from when they switch on UserDN publishing.
  • Some people are unhappy with the new local jobs VO subdivision at CERN, since these VOs took additional positions on the TOP-10

table in the portal.

  • In the next release, some visualization support will be added. There were additional requests from SA1, so we decided to incorporate the changes after delaying the release.

4. Plans for the next period

  • Migrate IN2P3 to new APEL server. Database schema improvements will be implemented.
  • Cloud – test setup of SSM sending records from STFC to CESGA.
  • Storage – test receiving StAR from dcache/StoRM/DPM
