5) What is VO ?

A VO(Virtual Organization) is a group of researchers with similar interests and requirements, who are able to work collaboratively with other members and/or share resources (e.g. data, software, expertise, CPU, storage space) regardless of geographical location.

6) What is VRC ?

A VRC(Virtual Research Community) is groups of researchers, typically residing in more than one country, working together effectively through the use of information and communications technology (ICT) and having an effective coordination model that can articulate prioritised requirements and other needs on behalf of the community.

1) How to start using EGI ?

You can find useful information at EGI.eu User Support section and also you need to attend EGI.eu training events those could be organized in your country, for the up to date events list please use events webpage(http://training.egi.eu/)

2) How to get personal grid certificate ?

To obtain a personal grid certificate that authenticates the user within the grid infrastructure and grants access to computing, storage and other types of resources you need to do it through the local grid Certificate Authority(CA) of your country, which can be found through the webpage of the International Grid Trust Federation(http://www.igtf.net/).

3) How to find details about all applications used at EGI ?

You need to visit applications database webpage(http://appdb.egi.eu/) where the all applications are fully described

4) How to find details about all NGIs ?

You need to visit EGI.eu website (http://egi.eu/production-infrastructure/Resource-providers/) to get the full list of NGIs.

5) How to find details about all VOs ?

You need to use VOlist(http://operations-portal.in2p3.fr/vo/vOlist) interface to extract relevant information about VOs.

6) How to join VO ?

Each VO have they one rules for joining and various User Accept Policies, you should contact the VO manager of the VO you want to join

7) How to create VO ?

You should ask for a new VO to be set up if none of the existing VOs is relevant for your scientific domain by contacting the user community support team at community-support (at) egi.eu.

8) How to report an issue or request support ?

EGI.eu User Community Support Unit can be reached by filling the GGUS.org ticket for day-to-day issues. The issues can be addressed directly to NGIs User Support Units or assigned to EGI.eu to solve or provide support.
