EGI Inspire Main page

Purpose

The purpose of this page is to keep track of the things to be organised for the User Community Support booth at UF2011 in Vilnius. Activities and requirements for the booth are being coordinated by Richard McLennan - inputs and proposals should be forwarded to richard.mclennan@egi.eu and Cc'd to ucst@egi.eu.

Poster templates, PPT Presentation etc

Participants wishing to prepare posters, flyers or stand-alone presentations are encouraged to use one of EGI.eu's preformatted templates which can be found in the EGI.eu web pages at:

[1]

You are also encouraged to contribute slides for the rolling presentation that will run as a backdrop throughout the exhibition. It has not been possible to upload a copy of the draft presentation into these pages but please post any inputs you may have to richard.mclennan@egi.eu and we will endeavour to incorporate your slides to the briefing.

The following posters have been printed (colour) and will be taken by RMcL to Vilnius

- AppDB - 1 x A0 size poster plus 50 copies in A4

- VO Services - 1 x A0 size poster plus 50 copies in A4

Yet to be printed:

- UCST - Requirements Process - 1 x A0 plus 50 A4

Other Material (covering SA3 and provided via Pablo Saiz):

- Google Earth representation of jobs and transfers performed in real time by ALICE, ATLAS, CMS and LHCb.

- Dashboard monitoring; demo of jobs and status of units serving one VO

- Display for CORAL, one of the apps used for accessing DBs

- GANGA - a representation of how various VOs distribute Jobs to their various units.

- PARTNER - demonstrating the work of biomedicine on the grid.

Any further contributions will be willingly considered for printing as time permits.

Demonstrations, Videos and 'How to' Guides

This section is intended as a working area for suggestions and a checklist for video opportunities, demos and guides that we may have for the Forum. These have been discussed at various meetings and Tele-Conferences but we now need to compile lists of i) what has already been prepared or ii) we intend to develop for the event.

- 1 AppsDB and AppsDB Gadget (Marios Chatziangelou <mhaggel@iasa.gr>)

- 2 VO Services - NAGIOS (Gonçalo Borges <goncalo@lip.pt> and Ignacio Blanquer <iblanque@dsic.upv.es>)

- 3 UCST Web-pages (UCST)

FAQs or Difficult Questions

We should be prepared to answer a range of questions and in particular, we should anticipate having to substantiate any claims we have made in any of our posters, slides, brochures etc. Questions and answers should be added in this section such that once read and 'correctly' answered, any of us should be able to respond if left on our own in the booth. Please either add your input here or mail to richard.mclennan@egi.eu.
