How-To fill in the NGI metrics for the quarterly report

This wiki page provide a manual to use the Metrics portal to fill the quarterly metrics for SA1.

It is mainly addressed to the Operations Managers and their staff. In the text you may substitute Operations Manager, with Operations staff.

The instructions refer to the metrics for the quarter 6, if you are willing to fill the metrics for another quarter, please select the correct one.

Note: The text reports need to be inserted in the wiki templates, as for the previous quarters.

Fill the SA1 NGI metrics

Note: you need a certificate or a SSO account to edit the metrics.

  1. Go to the metrics portal (metrics.egi.eu)
  2. On the menu on the left click on "Activity metrics"
  3. In the new page: in the box "Tasks by NGI" choose your NGI and select the "PQ6" in the drop down menus. Click on "Go to NGI tasks"
  4. In the new page: select the "SA1" activity and then "PQ6", then click again on "go to NGI tasks"
  5. In the new page click to "Edit" to change the values, or to add values in the cells
    Some metrics have suggested values, you can modify the suggested values if they are wrong. Please, always verify the suggested values.
    To modify a value set the Status to "Manual" into the drop-down menu. Set to "Verified" to confirm the pre-calculated value. Please note that you will always be able to manually change the values. Every change is recorded and can be inspected in a wiki-style.
  6. You can modify the table once you have submitted the page once.

Icons explanation

Icon Short description Description
A.png Automatic This icon, located before the metric value, means that the portal provides a suggested pre-calculated value. You should find pre filled figures in the cell. The suggested values are recalculated once every day. If needed, the Operations Manager can change the pre-calculated values. See the other descriptions below
U.png Unverified This icon, located after the metric value, means that the cell contains the pre-calculated value. The figures have not been corrected or validated - as they are - by the Operations Manager.
M.png Manual This icon, located after the metric value, means that the Operations Manager changed the pre-calculated value with his own figures. The value will not automatically change in the future. But it can be manually corrected.
V.png Verified This icon, located after the metric value, means that the Operations Manager approved the pre-calculated value. The value will not automatically change in the future.
