2. ACTIVITY REPORT

2.1. Progress Summary

·       NGI GRNET has performed a survey for gathering (a) user’s requirements regarding their needs from the next versions of middleware and (b) user’s satisfaction regarding the operation of the grid infrastructure and the support provided. The main requirements gathered are the following:<o:p></o:p>

-        Improvement of the execution time of jobs<o:p></o:p>

-        Improvement of WMS service, through better matching of jobs with computing elements or an option to exclude some requirements<o:p></o:p>

-        Support of previous versions of middleware (for example LCG-CE)<o:p></o:p>

-        Real-time inspection of job progress<o:p></o:p>

-        Compliance with Grid Standards, like WSRF (Web Services Resource Framework), and OGSA (Open Grid Service Architecture).<o:p></o:p>

-        Matlab support<o:p></o:p>

-        Provision of a web portal for job execution and data management<o:p></o:p>

·       NGI GRNET has installed at the following link http://ui01.kallisto.hellasgrid.gr:8080/ the WS-PGRADE portal (www.guse.hu) for HellasGrid users. The portal has been configured in order to support SEE virtual organization and now is at the phase of pilot operation in order to check its correct operation.<o:p></o:p>

·       Update of HellasGrid site with information regarding HellasGrid access procedure.<o:p></o:p>

·       Solution of problems concerning the interface between NGI GRNET regional helpdesk and GGUS.<o:p></o:p>
