2. ACTIVITY REPORT

2.1. User Support achievements

Establish contact with research groups from Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy. Testing installation of OpenStack cloud middleware. Performed induction training of researchers from the domain of Financial Mathematics. Participation in EGI Technical Forum 2013. The results achieved using the Grid resources for environmental modeling served as basis for a doctoral thesis of one young researcher. Successful resolution of problems related to storage that were a result of electricity power outages.

2.2. Plans

Plan for the procurement of new hardware for the grid clusters to increase the capacity for GPU computing and disk storage. Plan for join to the EGI Federated cloud. Participate in the organization of the BG SIAM workshop in December 2013 and prepare presentation and promotional materials.
