Summary

The Liferay mini project has completed most of its work, and is extending the scope towards authentication in Liferay and a more thorough evaluaiton of Liferay for replacing the current EGI.eu backoffice. The rOCCI project is continuously fixing bugs and extending the test coverage. The CDMI mini project is releasing the command line client, and the extending documentation and examples. The Slipstream OCCI connector is upgraded to support Slipstream API v2; Slipstream needs to support Ruby runtime since the connector is incorporating the rOCCI client. The AppDeployment team is testing OCCI in OpenStack Havanna, and further implementing the frontend. The CloudCapabilities team is encountering software license issues in private images, which needs to be properly added into the AUP.

TSA4.1 - Management

  • Collecting weekly reporting
  • MS801 review

TSA4.2 - MOOC

no report given

TSA4.3 - Liferay

  • Discussed the miniproject status among all three partners at a videoconference.
  • INFN finished work, will contact shepherd to ask whether to reserch "umbrella authentication".
  • SZTAKI finished work, produced its part of the deliverable.
  • CESNET is in the middle of its planned effort, more deep evaluation of Liferay features that may eventually replace the current backoffice implementations is performed.

TSA4.4 - OCCI for CMF

rOCCI framework
  • extended test coverage to improve QA on rOCCI-core (continuous, right now focusing on Occi::Collection and Occi::Model coverage)
  • a bunch of fixes for bugs discovered while implementing the server
rOCCI-server
  • working on a reference backend, towards the first alpha version
  • added a request parser
  • added Occi::Model integration (i.e. the server now correctly responds to GET /-/)
  • added support for resource_tpl and os_tpl for the dummy backend
  • continuously adding docs and unit tests (specs) for implemented features
ToDo for next week
  • continue working on rOCCI-server backends
  • in parallel, continue extending test coverage on rOCCI framework, primarily rOCCI-core
Problems
  • None (yet :-))
Delays
  • Still approx. one month (= Florian's contribution), no further delay

TSA4.5 - CDMI in CMF

Progress:
  • From Nov 1 the effort is back.
Plans for the next period:
  • cli release
  • documentation of usage examples + deployment examples
Problems we encounter, but can solve:
  • 1.75 month delay caused by effort rescheduling
Problems and issues we need external help with:

None

TSA4.6 - OCCI CompClouds

Progress:
  • Upgrading OCCI connector to SlipStream v2. Needed to support Ruby runtime, since using rOCCI
  • New connector will be enabled in the next upgrade of SlipStream v2 instance for Helix Nebula
Problems we encounter, but can solve:

None

Problems and issues we need external help with:

None

TSA4.7 - AppDeployment

Progress:
  • Frontend development
  • Testing OCCI in OpenStack Havana
Plans for next week:
  • Continue with development of frontend

TSA4.8 - CloudCapabilities

Progress:
  • Tried to shrink PeachNote image. Found out general size problems with Windows versions after and including Windows 7, making images awkwardly large. Documented issues in the Wiki. There are some other issues with this use case, some technical (stalled recognition process), some about licensing (at least Windows Server 2008 and SmartScore X2 Pro).
  • Contacting BNCweb about purpose and installation method of their image. There may also be an issue about licensing here, as the data (corpus) has a non-free license.
  • WeNMR: updated Gromacs image to include PyMol as described in their use case #1.
  • Checked on DCH-RP community once more, inspired by their workshop that was held in Rome.
Plans for next week
  • We'll need to solve licensing issues, not only for operating systems, but also for installed software. Will check whether this is part of the proposes AUP, as responsibility for license violations among users and resource providers must be clarified.
Problems we encountered, but can solve in the mini-project:
  • What's the exact purpose of the BNCweb application, how is the image going to be used? There's no real description of the use case.
Problems and issues we need external help with:
  • Licensing issues need to be dealt with in a broader scope, i.e. FedClouds and the AUP.

TSA4.9 - VAPOR
