Motivation
To organise a high impact presence for EGI at the 2012 European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly
- To host a stand to promote EGI
- To disseminate material to this community describing how EGI can support them and how existing researchers are utilising grid technology
- To participate in the session on Grid and Cloud computing
- To identify in advance of the meeting sub-communities within Geoscience/Earth Sciences (especially those connected with ESFRI projoects and/or connected to the NGIs
Output
The expected outputs of this project are:
- To host a stand at the event,
- raise the profile of EGI to this community and to
- identify and activate new sub-communities with grid-related needs that EGI can help satisfy.
Tasks
- Book EGI stand at the event (EGI)
- Submit proposal for session: ESSI2.10 Earth science on Cloud, HPC and Grid (proposal accepted)
- Confirm names of people from NGIs who will be present at the event and willing to support EGI at the booth
- Identify researchers who will be present by country (NILs)
- Ensure that EGI users have appropriate logos on their slides etc.
- Identify individuals that should be contacted during the week as prospective users on the infrastructure
- Produce brochure with compelling use case(s) featuring users making use of grid resources for their science (Sara Coelho)
